The Funniest Christmas Card Ever

by admin on December 13, 2011

One day last week a Christmas card arrived in the mail. It was addressed specifically to my husband “and family”. I didn’t recognize the couple’s names or the address but figured it had to be a co-worker’s of Tim’s. Tim arrives home from work and I am eager to find out out who these people are since Christmas cards in the mail are quite the rarity these days. Tim scans the envelope and the card and he  is utterly baffled.  He has no idea who they are.  Never seen them in his life.

WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?

(Cue the horror violins)

Is this a prank?  Did someone have this diabolical idea to send anonymous Christmas cards to random people and drive them crazy trying to figure out who they were?

So, Nathaniel found them on Facebook and yep, the names and addresses matched.   Nathaniel solved the mystery since it appears Robert has a co-worker friended on Facebook with the same name as my husband.   Robert must have googled his co-worker’s name to get his address and thinking there could only possibly be one Tim XXXX  in the area, mailed off a Christmas card to the address he had googled which we received in error instead of his co-worker.

Robert and Alison look like a fun-loving couple so Emma suggested we return the favor with a card of our own spoofing their card. So this is what we came up with:

I mailed it off today.   Lord, I wish I was a fly on the wall when they open it.

Yes, be jealous.  Be very jealous that your family is not anywhere near as fun and weird as mine.

Addendum:  Alison and Robert received the card and you can read their response in the comment section of this post.

HAHAHAHA!!! You guys are AWESOME! Let’s just say I learned my lesson and will double-check addresses from now on, lol! I’m so glad you returned the favor…we couldn’t stop laughing (once we saw your url on the back of the picture and read your blog above). I must admit though, I was a little freaked out at first when I didn’t recognize anyone in the picture. Anyway, we enjoyed this little “situation”, had a good laugh, and we wish you and your family a Merry Christmas! 🙂

Hello, I am the Tim the card was intended for. Robert shared your web address with me and I found this whole incident hilarious! You all seem like great fun loving people and I’m happy that someone that shares my name has such a great sense of humor. I hope your family has a Merry Christmas and a great and prosperous New Years.
